Wherever liquids, gases or vapours are conducted through pipelines there are valves and fittings, which must be actuated or moved.

Rack and pinion actuators are essential components of an actuator system consisting of valves and fittings, directional control valves or positioners and end position monitors. These units are inter-connected via standardised interfaces. From the process control system, from programmable controls or from other control devices, positioning signals are transmitted to the rack and pinion actuators via directional control valves or positioners. The rack and pinion actuators then mechanically translate the signals into rotary motion, which actuates the valves and fittings.

Thanks to their compact design and high performance our rack and pinion actuators are preferably used for automation of ball valves, plug valves, butterfly valves and control valves.

Our productrange includes 5/2-way and 3/2-way valves with ¼ inchconnections or special sizes, which can be flanged directly to theassembly according to VDI/VDE 3845. For high safety requirements,redundant versions are available.

Electro-magneticallyactuated and directly controlled poppet valves are suitable for awide range of service media: filtered, oil-free and dried compressedair, instrument air, nitrogen and other non-combustible, neutral, dryfluids (for versions suitable for liquid and aggressive fluids,please enquire).

Poppet valves made byNORGEN have TÜV approval certificates based on IEC 61508 and DINV19251 and can be used in safety-relevant systems up to SIL4 and AK7*as well as in the applicability ranges of explosion protection typesEEx me. Our standard consoles are galvanised.For high-temperature applications, (hot vapour, superheated steam) higher-end versions in stainless steel as well as adapters with cooling fins are used.
