     交联剂是一种 能在线型分子间起架桥作用，从而使多个线型分子相互键合交联成网状结构的物质。 促进或调节聚合物分子链间共价键或离子键形成的物质。 交联剂在不同行业中有不同叫法，例如：在橡胶行业习惯称为“硫化剂”；在塑料行业称为“固化剂”、“熟化剂”、“硬化剂”；在胶黏剂或涂料行业称为“固化剂”、“硬化剂”等。以上称呼虽有不同，但所反映的化学性质和机理是相同的。
在使用交联剂时，要尽量避免添加酸性填料，添加抗氧剂时也要慎重，其他芳烃油类助剂等对交联效果都会起到不良影响，一定要注意这点。
    聚乙烯（PE）电缆、管材等产品经过交联后，产品性能大大提高，如机械力学性能，耐热性能及耐环境应力开裂性能（ES-CR均得到了很大提高，用于这类产品的交联剂品种除用过氧化二异丙苯外，也有用硅烷类接枝交联的。
